When writing a press release, do you submit the same piece to?

different news agencies? Or are you expected to draft a new article for each agency?

It depends. If you are trying to reach different audiences, you may want to tailor your releases to different markets. For example, if you are going to issue a release inviting the public to an antique show, you can have the same information to the local newspapers and broadcast outlets. If you are sending a press release to an antique collectors’ magazine, you may want to go into greater depth about items for sale or on display, where the dealers come from, their specialties and oganisational affiliations.
In other words, consider your audience.
