What is the best format to use when writing a press release for a community event?

I am an instructor for a high school percussion group–I am also a high school teacher–and I was charged with the task of writing a press release for our upcoming community night. I have all of the information for the event, but I need to know what the best format is to write up the release.

You can divide Press Release in three parts First Headline, Second Body and third your information.

Start with date & end with # # #

First part of body should contain brief event info while second part of body should contain details of event.
