    @GermanStraight1 we …
    @GermanStraight1 we pollute the most in terms of individuals..but the country that pollutes the most is china..the difference is that individual chinese citizens dont pollute as much as individual american citizens.

    obama is a fascist because he wants to move the usa towards a totalitarian state. they don’t talk about these things in the news. i happen to follow congressional laws. there are many strange laws being created. obama also renewed the patriot act. look it up..

    @intrepidorator oil …
    @intrepidorator oil is making oil more expensive. oil is getting harder to find so it takes more and more barrels of oil to extract the oil..solar isn’t really a good solution in my opinion..the technology isn’t there..they aren’t yet practical..now..should companies be able to supress technology to maintain market relevance? i don’t believe they should..

  6. intrepidorator Said,

    @SearchAndBuild …
    @SearchAndBuild that said, if you could steer me towards an alternative energy source that I can afford to install on my house, I would love to go “off the grid” and be self sufficient in my energy usage.

  7. intrepidorator Said,

    @SearchAndBuild No, …
    @SearchAndBuild No, Im sure that the oil companies don’t want people to get off of their product. The point that I am making is that if Obama wants me, or the majority of people out there to switch to solar for our electricity, he would work on making solar a cost efficient option. instead Obama is working to make oil more expensive in order to make solar appear to be more cost effective than it really is.

  8. SearchAndBuild Said,

    @intrepidorator

    @intrepidorator

    there are many, many, many alt energy firms popping up all over the place. i don’t think you understand the influence of the oil industry in this world. you should look into all the technology that is suppressed by corporate interests. the market is just a concept made to feel tangible. our market limits our progress..profit should not supercede progress..especially when its profit for a few..

  9. intrepidorator Said,

    @SearchAndBuild I …
    @SearchAndBuild I trust the market to do what the market is intended to do, be profitable. If solar was profitable we would have hundreds of new start up companies getting rich, just like the dotcom bubble of the 90’s.

  10. intrepidorator Said,

    @daderone Companies …
    @daderone Companies want to do 1 thing, make money. If solar energy was efficient and profitable then new companies would spring up to manufacture them. I wouldn’t expect an oil company to lead the way. But if Solar made sense, then new companies would be getting rich selling people like me a cost effective alternative to the electric companys power.

  11. SearchAndBuild Said,

    @GermanStraight1 …
    @GermanStraight1 Germany gets 16% of it’s energy from renewable sources..the rest comes from coal, natural gas and petrol..

    you seem to think that obama is some sort of god..he is not..he is a fascist..if you knew the truth about the American government you would not be saying these things.

    We are the country that pollutes the most and consumes the most resources yet we have immense poverty..stop praising a government and administration that does nothing for its people..you look stupid.

  12. SearchAndBuild Said,

    @intrepidorator why …
    @intrepidorator why would you trust this market or the criminals who manipulate it?

  13. daderone Said,

    in the end my …
    in the end my thoughts on alternative energy to those who share your opinion is to listen. God gave you 2 ears and one mouth for a reason. Watch the video and listen as if it is a possibility you could learn something and that some people are indeed more informed and intelligent than yourself (no matter who you are). Listen to Gary Locke.

  14. daderone Said,

    @intrepidorator …
    @intrepidorator that sort of logic is what has led America to go from the country that created the car to one who can barely compete with Japan. The fact is when you have companies locked into an old way of doing things they often don’t change, and when the bottom line is incentivized only by profits and to shareholders businesses lose sight of their fundamental role in the economy and are unable to adapt to demand shifts often bankrupting rather than change. There is no invisible hand my friend

  15. daderone Said,

    like what I hear so …
    like what I hear so far and am so glad we have an administration and congress that realizes how important alternative energy is in the future of our nation. I look forward to the rest of the videos. Thanks for your hard work.

  17. intrepidorator Said,

    Heres my opinion on …
    Heres my opinion on green energy.
    If green energy made sense economically, then the free market would have gone that way. The research that I have done shows that it would cost me, with my tiny little 1000 sq ft home, $27000 to switch it to solar. It would take 13 years for this system to pay for itself.
    2 ways to make solar the best choice,
    (1.) make it affordable and efficient, or
    (2.) Artificially make the other forms of energy even more expensive.
    Obama has chosen option 2.
